Interviews

One-on-one interviews are an effective means of gathering information and receiving in-depth feedback from individuals.  Guided by a standardized set of open-ended questions, interview processes seek to identify individual perspectives, concerns and opinions.  Conducted in a non-threatening environment, one-on-one interviews provide the interviewer the opportunity to build a rapport and trust; to allow for the clarification of ideas and information; and, in many cases, to offer the “silent majority” a voice.  Interviews can be used as a stand alone method to generate input on specific issues or in combination with other research methods.

Praxis has designed and executed a wide variety of interview processes, ranging from expert interviews with internationally recognized environmental specialists, to key informant interviews with community leaders, to interviews with rural landowners “across the kitchen table.”  We design interview guides that generate actionable input for our clients.  Our roster of field consultants are communications experts, trained to actively listen and respectfully probe for information.
