Timeframe
2001 to 2002

The Banff Housing Corporation contracted Praxis, Inc. to conduct a Housing Study for the Town of Banff. The overall objectives of the study were: to identify the housing needs within the Town of Banff, to complete an affordability analysis with respect to housing in Banff, and to generate a 10-year development plan to address any housing shortfalls identified.

Responding to the often transient nature of the population in Banff, Praxis designed a comprehensive process that employed a variety of survey instruments. Examples of the techniques used included: a random sample survey of residents, focus groups with seniors and youth, a survey of employees living outside Banff, a self reporting survey of medium and small scale business, and key informant interviews with major employers and institutions. The results of the research were analyzed and a final report produced.
