Praxis completed a three-stage Delphi survey for the Environmental Council of Alberta. This precedent-setting study saw a 55% response rate of the 600 invited participants.

The Stage One survey consisted of 200 open-ended questions on 28 issues and opportunities related to sustainable development and the future of Alberta. Based on a data analysis of this open-ended survey, 28 background papers were written.

In Stage Two, Praxis prepared another survey reflecting the results from Stage One; this survey was mailed to over 400 participants. Again, over 55 % responded. Following data entry and analysis, 30 background papers were written along with a summary document that was sent to the participants.

In Stage Three, Praxis convened workshops with participants from the previous two stages to finalize recommendations for the Task Force. These workshops were held in Calgary and Edmonton. The results of the Delphi process were incorporated into the final Task Force Report presented to the provincial Cabinet.
