Project Type

Timeframe

Industry Canada and Canarie Inc. contracted Praxis to undertake an internet-based survey of health care professionals and organizations using information technology in their work in developing countries. Praxis used a two-staged process. First, we emailed a request to participate in the process to over 300 organizations and individuals worldwide. Second, we sent an online request for information that participants could complete.

Praxis analyzed the data and prepared a background paper, which was presented at a conference in Fall 1999 in Calgary, Alberta. The paper identified and synthesized the unique contributions that Canada could make in the global health arena by building on Canada’s existing strengths and leadership in health, health education and information technology sectors.
