The objective of this project was to assess the actual socio-economic impacts resulting from the construction of the Grizzly Valley Gas Pipeline in northeastern BC. The study focused primarily on Chetwynd, a community of 1,700 residents. Praxis completed a detailed analysis on the construction workforce, distribution of project expenditures, community responses to the project, as well as hiring and recruiting for the project. Comparisons of actual impacts were made with anticipated impacts defined in the original EIA, completed two years prior. (1978)
