Kerrie Hale, of Praxis, participated in the development of an urban population impact model created for the Regional Infrastructure Working Group. This group is a collaboration of oil sands industry developers and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

The model depicts estimation of local population effects, and the resulting effects on local municipal government and other service providers as a result of proposed oil sands development in the area. This model can be used to estimate the impacts resulting from either individual projects or from all projects, cumulatively.
