Weyerhaeuser identified the need for a series of local stakeholder advisory committees to assist in the resource use planning of its Forest Management Lease Area. Praxis, in association with Ramsay and Associates, identified the initial participants for six separate local stakeholder committees. They then worked with these committees over a six month period to develop the operating protocols (guidelines), identify major issues facing each area, and prepare them for an ongoing consensus building process and negotiations. In addition, a provincial level policy review group was established to review Weyerhaeuser’s overall provincial policies and practices and act as a “sounding board” for the firm.
