Praxis filled various roles during the 25-month inquiry process. Our responsibilities for the assignment included developing and maintaining a database of public comments from 54 community hearings; summarizing several hundred written submissions from the public and special interest groups; providing recorders for public and in-camera meetings; and consulting on document design.

From January to August 1994, Patrick Lewis of Praxis acted as chair of the Commission’s Management and Policy Committee. This Committee reviewed research conducted for the Commission by contract and staff researchers; coordinated the day-to-day operations of the Commission; organized and conducted 18 workshops over an eight week period; and managed the design, editing and writing of the two-volume, 800 page, final report submitted to the Lieutenant-Governor-in-Council.
