Timeframe
2010 to 2011

As part of its on-going stakeholder engagement activities, Encana contracted The Praxis Group™ to design and implement a two-phase consultation process to gather input from the general public and key stakeholders in its Clearwater and Fort Nelson Business Units (BU).

In Phase One, Praxis conducted a random sample telephone survey in each BU to determine the public’s perceptions and understandings of the Company’s operations, and Encana’s approaches to corporate responsibility and communications.

Phase Two focused on gathering input from key stakeholders. This phase involved in-depth telephone interviews with stakeholders who had had contact with Encana, as well as one-on-one interviews with a subset of stakeholders in the Fort Nelson, B.C. BU. The purpose of the interviews was to improve Encana’s understanding of how local stakeholders perceive the company, and to determine how well Encana is performing in a number of areas that are important to maintaining positive relationships with people living in the vicinity of its operations.

Praxis prepared a series of quantitative and qualitative reports and presentations detailing both collective results and feedback specific to each BU.
