Project Name

Genome BC Post-Performance Forums: Evaluation of Theatre as a Means for Discussing Science

Client
Genome BC
Project Type
NGO and Non-profit Sector
Timeframe
2006

In this project for Genome BC, Praxis Pacific designed and moderated audience forums after performances of a play on human cloning called “A Number”. The theatre group performed the play for five different audiences, including the general public, high school students, seniors, and scientists. The forums engaged the audiences in discussing issues raised in the play and the usefulness of theatre as a means to dialogue with the public about science. The results were fed into the GE3LS (Genomics, Society & Ethics) study on public education and dialogue.
